Until when is registration possible?

You can register until the congress and also during the congress. Registration is done as usual via the congress website.

Is there a fee for registering for the digital congress?

Yes, registration for the digital DWG 2020 is subject to a fee. As usual, you can register at the discounted rates via the "Registration & Abstracts" tab.

I have already registered for the annual conference of the DWG 2020 in Berlin – what happens now?

You should already have received a separate letter from our registration department. You will be rebooked for the digital annual conference in the same way as your previously booked programme items.

What do I need to attend the digital annual conference of the DWG 2020?

You need a good and stable internet connection (preferably LAN vs. WLAN), your computer/laptop, tablet or mobile phone, loudspeakers/headphones and a microphone. The use of a camera is optional. In any case, make sure that you are using the latest version of your browser. Especially with Internet Explorer under version 11 there may be more problems.

What is the procedure for sessions, ePoster sessions and workshops?

Guest presentations

  • The speakers record their lectures in advance.

  • They are presented by the chairmen at the meeting and then played back.

Lecture sessions

  • The speakers record their lectures in advance.

  • They are presented by the chairmen at the meeting and then played back.

  • The speakers and chairmen are connected live via video.

  • Participants can ask questions via chat; the questions are viewed by the chairmen, read aloud and answered live by the authors.

ePoster-sessions

  • The speakers and chairmen are connected live via zoom meeting.

  • The speakers will give their three-minute ePoster presentations live.

  • During the discussion time, participants and chairmen can ask questions in the zoom meeting and the authors can answer live.

  • The ePosters can also be viewed online at www.dwg-kongress-digital.de as three-minute video presentations for self-study.

Workshops

  • The speakers, leaders and participants are connected live via zoom meeting.

  • Participants can ask questions in the zoom meeting and the speakers can answer live.

  • A minimum number of participants is required for the workshops. The organiser reserves the right to cancel workshops if the minimum number of participants is not reached. Therefore, please register early at.

Are the sessions interactive? Is there a Q&A part?

For all sessions the speakers and chairpersons are live (even if the presentations are not live). You can ask questions via chat during the presentations. At the end of each session, the chair will review the questions, read them out and the speakers will answer them. The chat area is also available at any time during the virtual congress for further discussions.

Will there be an industrial exhibition?

Yes, the digital annual conference of the DWG 2020 will be accompanied by a virtual industry exhibition, which will not be shown as a 3D exhibition. Instead, companies will have the opportunity to present themselves and their products on their detail pages. As at a face-to-face event, you can view the exhibited material and exchange ideas with the stand personnel. Our sponsors look forward to your visit!
